What would you like to do today?
Tap a spot on a string, type the fret number, then press Next or Space to move ahead by the note length you’ve picked. Notes stacked in the same column ring together as a chord.
On a keyboard: 0–9 fret (type two digits quickly for 10–24), Space next, Shift+Space back, arrows move one column or string, Backspace erases, Ctrl+Z undoes. Technique keys: h hammer-on, p pull-off, / \ slides, b bend, r release, ~ vibrato, x muted.
Tap a slot to switch between down, up, muted, and rest. Play uses this pattern for every bar, starting from the selected bar.
Tap a measure to start from there. Space plays and stops.
Every instrument lined up by measure. Play runs them all together; Export and Print give the full score.
Tap the grid to add or remove hits; the notation above is written as you go. On a keyboard: arrows move (with Shift to jump a beat), Space or X adds or removes a hit, Backspace removes, Enter plays.
On a keyboard: A–G add a note near the last one, 1–5 pick whole to 16th, . dots, R adds a rest, ← → select, ↑ ↓ change pitch (with Shift for an octave), Backspace deletes, Space plays.
Play three notes on each string so the app learns how your guitar sounds on each one: open, 5th fret, and 12th fret. It uses the audio input chosen in Play to write and takes about a minute.
Turn your phone sideways for the full kit.

If the instrument sounds can’t load, SoundHouse Studio falls back to its own generated sounds. You can also choose those in the Mixer.
Wear headphones so the mic only hears you. Recording plays one bar before the start point so you can come in on time. Messed up? Choose the measure to start from and record again: the new take covers just that part, and earlier takes are kept so you can switch back.
Listens to the recording and writes it out as notes and rests, lined up with the measures. Works best for singing or one instrument playing one note at a time; chords aren’t written out. Trimmed parts are skipped.
Drums don’t change. Chord names and chord shapes move with the song. If a guitar note would go off the neck, it moves to another string.
Profiles, assignments, and practice history are kept on this device. Students send progress back with a practice report file.
The student gets a copy of the song as it is now. Changes you make later don’t change their copy.
SoundHouse reviews every song before it appears. Your name and email are only seen by SoundHouse, never shown in the library.
With endings, the last measures of the repeated section are the first ending, and the measures right after it are the last ending. Playback, Practice, and Play along all follow the repeats. Looping a range in Practice plays the measures straight.
